Terms & Conditions

Nomi is provided by Jaime Noain, an individual based in the United Kingdom. There is no company behind it. In these terms, “Nomi”, “we” and “us” mean that person; “you” means the person holding the account.

By creating an account or using Nomi you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

The Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement and explains how your data is handled.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Nomi, and you must give accurate account details.

You are responsible for your account: for keeping your password to yourself, for everything done through your account, and for the security of the email address you sign up with — anyone who controls that address can reset your password. Nomi is a single-user service and your account is meant for you alone; please do not share it. Tell us at info@nomi.you if you think someone else has got into it.

Nomi is a personal assistant and personal address book. It keeps track of the people in your life, reads your mail and calendar if you connect them, and suggests things: who to get back to, what a message is asking, a draft reply, a date worth putting in the diary.

Nomi is not a system of record, a backup service, or professional advice of any kind. It is not a substitute for your own judgement, and it should not be the only place any information you rely on exists. Export a copy of anything you would be sorry to lose — Settings ▸ Export gives you the lot.

You agree not to use Nomi:

• to break the law, or to help anyone else break it;
• to send unsolicited bulk messages, to harass anyone, or to build a marketing list you have no right to build;
• to store data you have no right to hold, or that you obtained by scraping a service in breach of its own terms;
• to attack, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service, its infrastructure, or another person's account;
• to resell or redistribute the service, or to run it as a service for other people.

You must also keep to the terms of any account you connect. Google Contacts, Gmail and Calendar remain governed by your agreement with Google.

Most of what goes into Nomi is information about other people. You are responsible for having the right to hold and use it — for the contacts you import from a spreadsheet or from LinkedIn, for the mailbox you connect, and for anything you record about someone.

If you are using Nomi for anything beyond your own personal and household purposes, you are likely to be the data controller for that information under UK data protection law, with the obligations that brings. That is your call to make and yours to comply with; we cannot make it for you.

You also agree not to put into Nomi any special category data — health, biometrics, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation and the like — about other people unless you are certain you may lawfully hold it. Nomi is not built or assessed for that.

When you connect Google, you authorise Nomi to act on that account within the permissions you granted. Some of those actions change things outside Nomi:

• contacts you create or edit in Nomi are written into your Google Contacts, and deleting a contact in Nomi deletes the copy Nomi put there;
• drafts Nomi prepares are saved into your Gmail — Nomi never sends them;
• tapping Archive, Label or Trash in Nomi changes your actual mailbox;
• accepting a calendar suggestion creates a real event in your calendar.

You are responsible for these effects on your own account and for your own compliance when Nomi writes on your behalf. Review what Nomi proposes before you accept it. You can withdraw the authorisation at any time from Settings ▸ Integrations, or from your Google account permissions.

Nomi's summaries, drafts, extracted dates and answers are produced by AI models. They are frequently useful and they are sometimes wrong — a summary can miss the point, a date can be misread, a drafted reply can be confidently mistaken about a fact.

Everything AI produces is a suggestion for you to check. You are responsible for what you send, save, accept, archive or act upon. Do not rely on Nomi's output for legal, financial, medical or other professional decisions.

Nomi is early-stage software, run by one person. It is provided on a best-effort basis, with no uptime guarantee and no service level agreement. There may be downtime, planned or otherwise. Features may change, be replaced, or be withdrawn, and the way something works today is not a promise about tomorrow.

Nomi also depends on services it does not control — Google, Supabase, Vercel, the AI providers. If one of them is down, rate-limits us, or changes its terms, parts of Nomi will stop working until it is resolved.

Nomi is currently provided free of charge. If that changes, you will be told clearly before any charge could apply, and you will be able to stop using the service rather than pay.

Your data stays yours. You keep all rights in the content you put into Nomi. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you — to store your content, process it, send it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy to produce the features you asked for, and show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

The software stays ours. Nomi's code, design, name and branding belong to Jaime Noain. Using the service gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it as intended — and nothing more.

You can leave at any time. Settings ▸ Account ▸ Delete account removes your account and its data and revokes Nomi's access to your Google account. It is immediate and cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.

We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, or where we must in order to comply with the law or protect the service or other people. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right, and we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data unless the law prevents it.

We may also discontinue Nomi altogether. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your data.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. In particular, we do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else where the law does not permit exclusion. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under UK consumer law are unaffected by anything in this document.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent UK law permits: Nomi is provided “as is”; we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate; and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or loss or corruption of data, nor for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the service.

Where liability can lawfully be capped, our total liability to you for all claims arising in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in that period and £100. Nomi is currently free, so that cap will usually be £100.

We may update these terms as Nomi develops. The current version is always at this address and carries the date it last changed. For a material change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using Nomi and delete your account; continuing to use it after a change takes effect means you accept it.

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of Nomi, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that part of the UK and may bring proceedings in its courts.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else; we may transfer ours if Nomi changes hands, and we will tell you if that happens.

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Nomi.
